เป็นภาพยนตร์ที่ดัดแปลงมาจากงานเขียนเรื่องแรกของ มาร์ก เบอร์เนล (Mark Burnell) ในแฟรนไชส์ Stephanie Patrick ที่มีหนังสือออกมาแล้วทั้งหมด 4 เล่มด้วยกัน โดยนวนิยายเรื่องนี้ยังมีอีก 3 เล่มตามมา คือ เล่มที่ 2 ในชื่อ Chameleon, เล่มที่ 3 ในชื่อ Gemini และเล่มที่ 4 ในชื่อ The Third Woman

ว่าด้วยเรื่องราวของ สเตฟานี แพทริก ที่เกือบจะตัดสินใจฆ่าตัวตายหลังจากที่ทราบข่าวว่าคร อบครัวของเธอเสียชีวิตจากเหตุการณ์เครื่องบินตก และจริง ๆ แล้วเธอควรจะต้องอยู่บนเครื่องบินลำนั้นด้วย ในเวลาต่อมาเธอรู้ว่าแท้ที่จริงแล้วเครื่องบินไม่ได้ตกจากอุบัติเหตุความโกรธของเธอได้ทำให้ต้องเธอค้นหาความจริงที่เกิดข ึ้นว่าใครคือมือสังหารในเหตุการณ์นี้ และสเตฟานีคนใหม่ที่โหดขั้นสุดกำลังตกอยู่ในความสับสนระหว่างสิ่งที่เธอรับรู้ (ด้วยตัวเอง) และสิ่งที่เธอได้ยินมาจากคนอื่น…!!!
